Information Transfer Cycle

Information Transfer Cycle (ITC) is a life cycle of information from “cradle to grave”. It is an important model to explain the transfer of information from its generation to its end users. 7 processes are regularly repeated in the same order and form a cycle.
Several models can be applied to explain ITC in detail.


7 Rs of Information Management

The 7Rs of Information Management is a model about information processing and creation of knowledge. As shown in the figure below, some processes are performed by individuals while others are performed by organizations.

Record Lifecycle (Kennedy & Schauder, 1994) and Record Continuum (McKemmish, 1997)
The two models, Record Lifecycle (Kennedy & Schauder, 1994) and Record Continuum (McKemmish, 1997), suggest that information is kept despite of the incredibly highe cost.
