The graph above illustrates the information seeking process.
Users perform information acquisition when they have information needs. Then, they would try to go through information organization (e.g. library) and search its database to retrieve relevant information. There will be Information distribution and provision of information products or services so as to satisfy users’ information needs. Finally, those information will be thereore used by the users.
Adaptive behaviour
Adaptive behaviour can be explained by information literacy.
The graph shows the elements that a literate person should have. He/she should connect with the society and have a work. Besides, he/she should have healthy well-being and be able to receive certain level of education.
Information literacy is closely related to adaptive behaviors, since a literate person would change his/ her information searching behaviors (i.e. adaptive behaviors) according to the situations he/she comes across. Meanwhile, based on the previous information use, a literate person would adjust his/ her adaptive behaviors for the next information seeking.
